RE: humour

I understand english humour. There is no cultural mystery for me when I watch english humour.

Humour plays off cultural beliefs. If the cultural beliefs are different - sometimes the humour is a bit of a mystery.

Re: There's a cultural divide sometimes when it comes to humour. This might be one of those times.

So, what did you think of "The Life of Brian?"

There's a cultural divide sometimes when it comes to humour. This might be one of those times.

Aw c'mon Beep. It's slapstick. For someone who has a byline from Monty Python (stand up Philosopher) this one ought to be as plain as a creme pie in the face.

Oh, I see.

So what are they saying? That they don't need sensitivity training and that they would just like to kick heads in?

I dunno. I don't have a military/authority/discipline mentality.

It's satire. It is a spoof of the present day Navy emphasis on sensitivity training. Every "training flick" such as those that are shown for "Safety Training" also have their politically correct sensitivity emphasis in line with the cultural goals being advanced.

This is an "off-Broadway" or "Underground" protest made by the troops on one our newest Aircraft Carriers. I have no knowledge of whether they have been sent to Siberia as a result or not.

I'm confused. I wasn't sure if that was meant to be funny or not.
