Oh, Oh.... "Evolution" - The Computer Game (Spore)
See article in New York Times HERE
I may be in trouble. I simply don't have the time... I DON'T HAVE the time, hear me??? ... to develop a civilization from primordial soup to intergalactic empire. I DON'T HAVE the time!!!!! Someone please get the straight-jacket.
I do not like PC games that are primarily a measure of hand-eye coordination and specialized reflexes. In my younger days I loved Chess (the only strategy game of pure skill) and that carries over into computer diversions. So, my tendency is to get hooked on "turn based" strategy games where you make decisions, equip your troops, send 'em out to battle and let the computer sort out the gore. Civilization (I through whatever the latest one is) and Shogun etc. ...that was my cup of tea. However, the old - "just one more turn" impetus invariably meant dragging myself to bed at 2am and getting up cursing my own stupidity at 6am the next morning.
This game, though i cringe at the whole evolutionary premise, still looks like it would be interesting. The write up says that the later stages of the game does depend on reflex skill but the graphic presentations sound outstanding.
But.... I DON'T have the time!!!! (I wonder if Amazon will give free shipping??????)
